Flat roofs are a convenient alternative against pitched roofs. Their origins and benefits lie in the functionalist architecture, which began to emerge in our country with massive development of prefabricated houses. Thanks to the technical development of the last few years we have available a wide range of high quality insulating materials, together with quality design work we can provide long-term, trouble-free waterproofing your roof.
Firestone RubberGard EPDM is the ideal, highly durable waterproofing solution for low-slope commercial and industrial roofs. Its success can therefore be attributed to an unique combination of features and benefits, which have been demonstrated in more than 1.000.000.000 m² of installed membrane on roofs worldwide.
Quick and easy installation
Firestone RubberGard® EPDM is available in large seamless sheets up to 15.25 m wide and 61 m long (930 m²), resulting in fewer field seams for large surfaces and short installation times. Additionally, Firestone's QuickSeam Tape technology provides a proven field seaming solution without requiring special tools.
High flexibility and elongation
Firestone RubberGard EPDM remains highly flexible even at temperatures down to -45°C, enabling year round installation. The membrane can also elongate over 300% to accommodate building movements and temperature fluctuations.
Low-life cycle costs
Firestone RubberGard requires little or no maintenance. If needed, RubberGard EPDM membranes can be easily repaired using the Firestone QuickSeam Tape products, even after decades of service. This feature, combined with the inherent durability and competitive installed cost of RubberGard EPDM roofing systems, result in a very low life-cycle costs.
Sustainable roofing solution
Firestone RubberGard EPDM is an inert material with limited environmental impact during manufacturing and use. No toxic substances are released during and after installation of the membrane, allowing collection and use of run-off rainwater for domestic use. Firestone RubberGard EPDM can also be recycled and re-used in e.g. walkway pads. In addition, Firestone's EPDM manufacturing facilities have received ISO 14001 certification, a testimony of the company's commitment to environmental management.
Firestone TPO Ultraply® is a modern alternative to PVC, gradually replacing this material. These thermoplastic roofing membranes are among the fastest growing commercial roofing products and have gained broad industry acceptance for their many performance and installation advantages.
Easy to use
Firestone Ultraply® TPO is available in strips wide up to 3.05 m, which allows fast and economical installation. With a weight of 1.13 kg / m2, it is a light membrane for new construction and reconstruction.
Hot air joining
Quick and economical installation of Firestone TPO Ultraply® allows hot air welding while ensuring constant quality and bond strength. Heat welded joints create even the upper and lower side of the membrane. This system combining Firestone TPO Ultraply® enables year-round installation in a variety of weather conditions, even at low temperatures.
Excellent resistance and durability
Firestone Ultraply® TPO contains no plasticizers, hologenid compounds or chlodrids. It has an excellent resistance to UV rays and ozone. Moreover, a high resistance to the growth of algae, fungi and soil microorganisms as well as chemical resistance acting on the roof.
Light surface TPO is reflecting radiation away before it can be absorbed and converted into heat energy, thereby improving energy efficiency of the building. Joining belts by hot air has no negative impact on the environment.
When insulating roofs in light industry and in construction with easy to moderate requirements, Bauder and its diverse system solutions based on PVC insulation is a reliable choice. One-layer Bauder THERMOPLAN meets all the current standard requirements and allows safe use of film in new buildings, but also for refurbishments.
Robust PVC roofing membranes are used as single-layer films, the joints associated with cold special preparations. Securing against wind uplift is quickly and reliably solved by mechanical anchoring. For installing PVC for some insulating materials (e.g.EPS), it is necessary to use protective and separating layer.
PVC sheeting is a traditional insulation material that is used for large halls, supermarkets and similar less demanding constructions.
Bitumen sheets BAUDER meet all the current requirements for the life length of the roof: the modified SBS modifier, polyester support bush 200 g / m2 - a high elongation and bending of from -10 ° C to 150 ° C. Asphalt strip meets a very good role of a vapor barrier, insulation and waterproofing.
Flat roofs have recently became a substitute to sloped roofs. Flat roof have advantages against pitched roof:
- Simple insulation solution.
- No problem with the use of fiat attics.
- The possibility of using the roof as a terrace, garden or other leisure time living space.
- A simple local repair or replacement.
- Economies of scale - the bigger the roof, the cheaper.
- Longer life than sloped roof.
